The Product
The Signature of Modern Luxury Architecture
A pivot door does what a hinged entry cannot. It turns on an engineered axis — the pivot set into the head and the floor — so an oversized panel moves with a fingertip’s push and settles into place with quiet precision. It is the moment guests remember before they step inside.
Alta Vetro pivot doors are configured for that moment. Standard and thermally broken series carry 100mm panel construction, 29 design styles, and concealed dust-proof seals top and bottom for uninterrupted, minimalist sightlines. Every panel is finished to your palette — 12+ designer finishes, from matte black to metallic champagne and pearl bronze, or a custom color — and configured to the opening’s exact dimension.
Engineered for Oversized Presence
Weight is what makes an oversized panel difficult to specify. Our pivot hardware — a sub-floor cement-case closer set into the slab, 3D-adjustable hinges, and a concealed pivot axis — is engineered for the load. The panel operates effortlessly, holds its plane, and can be adjusted for perfect alignment years after installation.
The custom-glass and pivot-adjacent options extend the possibilities. Textured, fluted, and bronzed glass are available; oversized configurations with fixed pivot-adjacent panels create true wall-scale entrances; and integrated multi-point locking keeps the security discreet.
Configured to Colorado
Every pivot system Alta Vetro specifies is engineered for Colorado’s mountain climate. Thermally broken construction handles freeze-thaw cycling at the entrance, UV-stable finishes hold their tone at altitude, and threshold drainage is integrated where the opening is exposed to snowmelt. On CW-PG55-rated projects, the pivot lines pair with commercial-grade panoramic systems to answer the full opening schedule.

FAQ
Pivot Doors — Common Questions
How large can a pivot door be?
Oversized configurations with engineered pivot hardware and 100mm panel construction are core to the line. Panel dimensions are configured per project to the architecture and structural context.
Are pivot doors difficult to operate?
No. Engineered pivot hardware — with the pivot axis set into the head and floor — turns even oversized panels with a light push. The mechanism is designed for daily use over decades.
Can I choose a custom finish or glass?
Yes. Twelve designer finishes plus custom colors, and custom glass — from clear to fluted, reeded, or bronzed — are offered across the pivot line. Finishes coordinate across doors and windows on the same project.
How do pivot doors handle Colorado's climate?
Thermally broken construction, UV-stable finishes, and durable weather seals let the systems perform through freeze-thaw cycling and altitude UV. Threshold drainage is integrated where the entrance is exposed.
Who installs the door?
Installation is handled through our preferred, manufacturer-familiar partner, The Install Company. This keeps quality control tight and warranty confidence high.
What structural preparation does the opening need?
The rough opening needs a properly sized header for the panel weight and, for many configurations, a sub-floor cement-case closer set into the slab. We coordinate the framing and prep with your GC.
